European Photonic Integrated Forum

The European Photonic Integration Forum is organized every year at ECOC by ePIXfab and JePPIX, and is this year again supported by PhotonDelta. In the 2026 edition, EPIF focuses on the pathways to European scaling of the photonics ecosystem: from public funding to venture capital.

Keynote speakers:

• Claudia Hoessbacher (Marvell) will tell the exceptional story of Polariton, going from an academic spin-off setting world-record modulator speeds to a successful acquisition by Marvell in 2026.
• Ewit Roos (PhotonVentures) will give insights in the investment strategies in Europe, and how new pathways to venture capital can enable photonic start-ups and scale-ups in the European ecosystem

Each of the keynotes will be accompanied by a one-on-one interview diving deeper into the topic, followed by an interactive panel discussion session. The event will be closed by a networking drink.
