Brussels National Airport
Ghent is only 60 minutes from the international airport of Zaventem ‘ Brussels Airport”, where flights arrive from and depart to more than 70 destinations. There are two direct trains per hour between the airport railway station (Brussel-Nationaal-Luchthaven) and the railway station, Ghent-Sint-Pieters (Gent Sint-Pieters station).
In the airport, follow the signs to the railway station. Buy a ticket for Ghent-Sint-Pieters station at the counter in the train station of the airport or online on http://www.belgianrail.be/en/. Booking online avoids long ques at the ticketing counters.
Apart from direct trains to Ghent, you can take the shuttle train to Brussels Central Station from the airport (4 trains in each hour). There, you can change to a train to Ghent-Sint-Pieters.

Charleroi Brussels South Airport
There are two options for traveling between Charleroi (Brussels South) Airport and Ghent:

By High-Speed Train:
The closest international railway station for high-speed trains is Brussels South (Bruxelles Midi) railway station (arrival of Thalys, TGV, Eurostar, ICE, etc.).
Regular connections by train to Ghent-Sint-Pieters railway station are available (approximately 2-3 trains per hour) with a journey time of approximately 30 minutes. Train schedules are available at www.b-rail.be/main/E/.
By International Bus:
If you’re planning to travel by bus or coach, you can contact Eurolines (http://www.eurolines.be/), which runs coach services to many destinations in Europe. Ghent is one of them. The bus stops at Koningin Elisabethlaan 73, which is near the Ghent Sint-Pieters train station.
